Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins is an Mexican American sportscaster. She is the host of SportsNation and serves as an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. Her first job at ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of the TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was bi-lingual since nine years old. It was a helpful skill that helped her secure her first job working as an assistant to the producer for Univision in Miami and provided her with the opportunity to collaborate with producers of national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Her next assignment was reporter for sports at the CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009 she relocated from Texas to Rio Grande Valley where she was a news reporter at KNVO TV 48 Univision. In 2009 she made the move to Rio Grande Valley, Texas, where she became a reporter for KNVO 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. In addition, she was frequently asked to serve as an anchor for sports and weather. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallas' affiliate, where she is more responsible. She reported on the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and the NBA Postseason, as well as the finals for FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. She produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra and anchored it. She was a host of sports for the morning show of Despierta America Deportes. She served in the same capacity on the magazine program of the network Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' parents were born in Veracruz Mexico. She was born November 22, 1984 in Mexico City. Her older sister is also hers. In 1992 her family left Mexico and relocated to Miami. They divorced shortly thereafter and in 1995 her mother got married to a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. It was on a holiday in the summer that she lived with her younger sister living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten a job. Antonietta was a senior in high school having a clear idea of where she thought her future would be, visited Mount Union University to see if the school suited her. In the end, she fell in love with the campus. And they offered her an academic major. Following her graduation from high school, she made the decision to enroll at the university with a major with Media Studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU in which she is a member. They developed a close connection. The professor encouraged her to believe in herself and was deeply touched by his passion for journalism.
